Small Business List Builder online course

Small Business List Builder

I’m very excited to tell you all about the brand new Small Business List Builder online course!
As you might know: I’ve been running in-person Instagram classes back in Tokyo with my biz bestie Victoria from Bikudesigns in a past. We loved teaching fellow small business owners about the power (and limitations!) of social media marketing and how to utilise Instagram to find the right followers without spending all day every day on the platform.

We were already working on our next course, when I found out about our move to New Zealand. Instead of coming to a total standstill, Victoria and I decided to keep on going and turn the planned in-person class into a 2 week online course instead!

Welcome to our new online course Small Business List Builder – Start, grow & nurture your email list!

  • You know that you need a mailing list but just don’t know where to start. Right?
  • Do you feel like you’re bothering people when you email them?
  • Do you want to connect with your customer but don’t know what to talk about?
  • Are you scared people will unsubscribe?
  • You already have a list, but are unsure what to do with it?

Email marketing is more important than ever. It’s getting harder and harder to reach existing and potential customers/clients on social media. At the mercy of ever-changing algorithms, your content is competing in a very crowded space. Plus: You don’t own your followers. If for some reason your account gets suspend or hacked, all your hard work is gone and might not be recoverable. An email list however is yours. You own it and it allows you to communicate with your community in a more direct way. Join us to find out how at our Small Business List Builder online course!

The course will start on 30 January 2023 and run for 2 weeks. Participants will have access to 6 comprehensive video modules as well as 2 live calls plus free access to our brand new small business community for 3 months.

Does that sound like you? 👇🏼

Tokyo Food: Some of my favourite local food-related small businesses

If you follow my Instagram / Facebook Stories, you might have noticed my slight obsession with food.

These days it’s more about food we consume at home rather than out & about, so I thought I share some of my favourite local food-related small businesses with you:

Oishimon Organic Farm

Oishimon in Saitama is run by Simon, a Dutch farmer. We subscribed to the weekly organic veggie box about a year ago and I still look forward to every delivery. Lots of leafy vegetables, salads, herbs, root veggies etc arrive every Tuesday on our doorstep.

Eco Hachi Living

Marisa of Eco Hachi Living makes beautiful reusable beeswax food wraps using Japanese fabrics. They are pretty much in daily use I our kitchen and make great gifts too!

Punk Doily

Pies – glorious pies! And sausage rolls.
Savoury antipodean style.

These tasty beauties are a staple in our freezer. Yummy buttery crust, juicy fillings – each one of Punk Doily’s pies is a savoured treat in our house.

This month I’m … November 2020

The Queen’s Gambit

We are about half-way through this totally addictive series and LOVE it!

with those beautiful cotton throws that arrived from Thailand a few days ago! 220 x 110 cm, ¥4,000
I’ll add them to the online store sometime next week – please get in touch to purchase before they go up online!

to the Holiday Pop-In with Bikudesigns & My Moniko!

Save the date! 26th November @ the Showroom. Further details to follow!

Pomegranate Soup

Beneath the holy mountain Croagh Patrick, in damp and lovely County Mayo, sits the small, sheltered village of Ballinacroagh. To the exotic Aminpour sisters, Ireland looks like a much-needed safe haven. It has been seven years since Marjan Aminpour fled Iran with her younger sisters, Bahar and Layla, and she hopes that in Ballinacroagh, a land of “crazed sheep and dizzying roads,” they might finally find a home.

Styling video: How to create a stylish outdoor space for summer

Hi everyone & taaa daaa!

May I present the first installment of quick home styling videos with the fabulous Cherie Jones of Cherie Jones Design 🤩

Given that most of us will spend the summer in our homes this year, you may want to turn your outdoor space, no matter how tiny or large, into a stylish oasis for the season. Small changes can make a huge difference to the mood and feel of a place.

Please let me know what other areas in your home you’d like us to tackle in future videos.

Keep smiling,

Getting closer

Remember the Bikudesigns x Turquoise Port creative collaboration we keep talking about? Well today you can see some of the limited edition items in close-up that will be launched VERY soon.

The Meera clutch is made by hand in India from a combination of gold rattan, hand-embroidery and hand-beading. Inside there is a nifty little detachable antique bronze chain making this a perfect little bag for a brunch or evening cocktails. It’s so easy to dress up or down depending on the event.

The Musubime cuff is so light and easy to wear that you won’t even know it’s there. Made from a turquoise vintage iro-muji kimono, the bracelet gives you a little hint of the matchy-matchy with the Meera clutch, without overdoing it.
