Some of my favourite local food-related small businesses

If you follow my Instagram / Facebook Stories, you might have noticed my slight obsession with food.

These days it’s more about food we consume at home rather than out & about, so I thought I share some of my favourite local food-related small businesses with you:

Oishimon Organic Farm

Oishimon in Saitama is run by Simon, a Dutch farmer. We subscribed to the weekly organic veggie box about a year ago and I still look forward to every delivery. Lots of leafy vegetables, salads, herbs, root veggies etc arrive every Tuesday on our doorstep.

Eco Hachi Living

Marisa of Eco Hachi Living makes beautiful reusable beeswax food wraps using Japanese fabrics. They are pretty much in daily use I our kitchen and make great gifts too!

Punk Doily

Pies – glorious pies! And sausage rolls.
Savoury antipodean style.

These tasty beauties are a staple in our freezer. Yummy buttery crust, juicy fillings – each one of Punk Doily’s pies is a savoured treat in our house.

Showroom closed until further notice … COVID-19 🦠

Dear all,

With the global virus crisis still going strong, I’ve decided to close the Showroom for the time being.

I’m still around though (not going anywhere really as I’m social distancing) so if you see anything you like, please get in touch. Shipping is available for most items or else I can keep your purchases for you until things get better out there.

Stay safe, look after yourself and out for each other 💙

Sip & Shop for Refugees International Japan (RIJ) … Thursday, 29th November 2018

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

Although there might not be as many refugees in Japan as in other countries, we should not close our eyes to the worldwide refugee crisis that has been going on for quite a while with no end in sight.

With that in mind Victoria of Bikudesigns and I have teamed up with Refugees International Japan (RIJ) and curated an evening of shopping and socialising over a glass of wine (or two) at the Shibuya Campus of the British School in Tokyo (BST). All table fees and proceeds from the tombola go to RIJ – read all about their work here.

The event is open to The British School in Tokyo community and all friends and families.

Check out the great line-up of vendors, come along for a sip of wine and tick those items off your Christmas shopping list!

Tokyo Instamingle

Calling all Tokyo Instagrammers!

I am totally excited to be co-hosting the Tokyo Instamingle together with Victoria from Bikudesigns going forward!

The regular Instamingle event has been around for a little while and I have thoroughly enjoyed being a guest and participant until now.

I am thrilled to be working with Victoria on yet another project – I stock a small selection of her beautiful handcrafted vintage kimono jewellery in my showroom, we are part of the same awesome Mastermind Group and we launched The Collective Market earlier in the year together.

Given that Instagram doesn’t have group and event functions (yet), we have decided to home the (closed) group on Facebook for the time being.

Instagrammers with all levels of experience are welcome – join the group here!

Hope to see on Facebook and in person at the next event!
