New Zealand is famed for its majestic landscapes and breathtaking vistas. Among its many treasures, the Abel Tasman Coastal Track stands out as a must-visit for any outdoor enthusiast. It’s one of NZ’s famous 11 Great Walks (all multi-day) and the first one we ticked off the list.

It was a fairly easy one to start our Great Walk discovery with; accessible trails lead along golden beaches, turquoise seas, and lush native forests. Additionally, there aren’t too many hills to tackle either.
We hiked around 50km in 4 days, staying in basic huts without electricity along the way. Being away from civilisation is something special. Although we met other hikers, we didn’t see any cars, roads, shops, restaurants, etc., for the whole 4 days. Furthermore, when you’ve got to carry everything, including all of our food and a camping cooker, you pack lightly!
Blessed with fabulous weather, I absolutely loved the journey 💙
