Food and travel go hand in hand in my opinion and food is usually one of the first things I research when planning a trip.

Luckily our local foodie friends sent us down the right yummy path to discover Melbourne’s culinary delights on a recent trip to the city:

Flavours of Coburg Food Tour

I love food tours! There’s just no better way to dive into the local food scene, get some great recommendations, taste foods you might not have ordered otherwise and do it all together with a bunch of people from all over the world.

Loved the tour around Coburg, a multicultural suburb worth exploring.

Maha

What a place! Dark & sultry, great music, fabulous service and amazing food turn dinner into an event. It’s on the pricey side, but ever so worth it for a special occasion.

Bahari | The Hellenic Palate

Very good Greek food is hard to come by in Auckland so we took the tram to Richmond for a great meal at Bahari. It was totally worth the extra mile!

Queen Victoria Market Melbourne

Queen Victoria Market

Yum!! There are just so many food options at the QV Market!

We skipped breakfast one morning and headed straight there to overindulge on börek (savoury Turkish pastry), poffertjes (Dutch mini pancakes with melted butter & powdered sugar) and great coffee.

Hardware Société

It’s not the best picture I ever took, but by far some of the best baked eggs I ever had.

The eggs come with tomato and thyme tartare, semi‐dried tomatoes, basil pistou, stracciatella, smoked almonds. Delicious!

Some of the other options on the menu looked great too – I’ll be back next time I find myself I Melbourne!
