Got an old couch that looks a bit worse for wear, but has got good bones? Have you thought about giving your sofa a new lease of life by recovering it?

Our large L-shaped sofa has been with us for a long time. We bought it in 2013 in New Zealand, and it moved with us to ➡️ Thailand ➡️ Malaysia ➡️ Japan and back to ➡️ Auckland.

We had it made to our specifications with deeper-than-standard seating as we love to lounge around on our sofa. There’s no sitting pretty in our home!

We loved how comfortable it is, but the charcoal grey fabric just looked a little drab. So instead of sending the sofa to landfill, we got it reupholstered.

I absolutely love how it changes the whole room and it feels like we have a brand new sofa 🩵. The transformation is remarkable, and it has breathed new life into our living space.

It totally pays to invest in quality pieces that, with a little TLC, last a lifetime. If you’re stuck with decision making when it comes to interior decoration and styling, reach out—I’m happy to help!

Giving your sofa a new lease of life: Final thoughts

So, if you’ve got a beloved piece of furniture that’s seen better days, consider reupholstering it instead of replacing it. Not only is it a sustainable choice, but it also allows you to breathe new life into something you love. With a fresh new fabric, your old sofa can become the centerpiece of your room once again, offering comfort and style for many more years to come. Happy decorating!
