We spent a long weekend in Melbourne not so long ago. It was my second visit and I loved it! We’ll definitely be back and not just because we’ve got some lovely friends there.
See below for some of the things I enjoyed discovering:

Free Walking Tour

I love walking tours and this was one of the best I’ve had the pleasure to be on. Our enthusiastic guide was a great story teller, had bags full of information and tips on great restaurants, bars & cafes.

Melbourne Immigration Museum, long corridor with high ornate ceilings and tiled floors

Immigration Museum

Given all the museums in Melbourne, the Immigration Museum is perhaps not on the list for many people, however being a repeat immigrant & expat, this topic is of great interest to me and the exhibits did not disappoint.

The museum is housed in the stunning Old Customs House which I had pretty much to myself for the first hour until some rather noisy school groups arrived.

The Lume Melbourne

The Lume is an immersive art gallery that combines art, technology and storytelling to create unique and interactive experiences.

We had the chance to visit “Monet & Friends”, a showcase of the works of Claude Monet and other renowned impressionists at this immersive experience.

The Ian Potter Centre, art gallery, blue doorway and red painting in distance

The Ian Potter Centre

I spent a few hours exploring the impressive contemporary designed building, featuring spacious galleries flooded with natural light.

The collection primarily focuses on Australian art, showcasing a diverse range of artworks and exhibitions that span different periods and styles.

A feast for all senses.

St Paul’s Cathedral

The stained glass windows, wall & floor tiles are absolutely mesmerising in this impressive place of worship.
